79, THE CLOCK
The clock on the wall ticks all day long.
The cuckoo pops out and gives us a song.
The pendulum swings from side to side.
We take the clock for granted. This can't be denied.
Hours slip by each and every day.
Grant us more time I hear many say.
With twenty four hours in a day,
is this enough time for work, rest and play?
Does a child think of time?
All they want to do is play and climb.
Their parents are their clock.
They say when to get up or go for walk.
It is time for lunch they hear their mum call,
as they throw a ball against the wall.
Clocks come in many styles.
They can bring many smiles.
To listen to the chime of a clock brings
Big Ben to mind.
Another clock like this is hard to find.
Don't live your life by the clock
watching the hands go round and round.
It says Tick Tock, Tick Tock, Tick Tock.
The pendulum will continue to swing.
Another day it will bring.
