70, BUDGET BLUES
Another budget has been handed down.
No wonder many have a frown.
With Promises the treasurer made,
whatever he offered have been delayed.
The cost of living has gone through the roof.
We don't have to look far to find the proof.
Electricity bills have gone sky high.
Please don't ask the reason why.
The shopping basket has little in it.
Some say grin and bare it.
The cost of petrol many can't afford.
What has happened to Australia? We say good lord.
No more dining out, going to the cinema or buying a stout.
Many now go to the food bank or miss out.
For this who do we thank?
Our government is out of control,
making life tough. Is this their goal?
No longer do we have a savings account.
The cost of living has wiped that out.
The lucky country we used to say.
Living here now is a high price to pay.
Come on Aussies it is time to shout.
We must vote this Government out.
Buying a home, few now have a chance
while paying high rent two weeks in advance.
Wages no longer cover the bills,
The budget at home has to be tightened.
The thought of a visit to the doctor has me frightened.
How much more can we tighten the belt before the squeeze is really felt?
