31, A FARMERS LOT
Australian farmers really do it tough.
No matter what they are farming, life can be rough.
Whether growing cattle, corn or wheat,
it can be a hard life keeping on your feet.
Elements of weather can make or destroy,
this you soon learn, as a farmers boy.
Droughts are no stranger, on farmland.
It is no wonder, farmers often need a hand.
No rain through the growing season,
can send a farmer broke, please trust me,
this is no joke.
A Government hell bent on stopping sheep exporting.
Protestors tresspassing on your farmland,
This is when one says, this is all out of hand.
The economy of Australia is not all from gold.
Too much of Australia has already been sold.
Many generations of farmers have kept Australians fed.
It is time to put all of this to bed.
Be thankful to our farmers, for all the meat we eat.
You supporting them, helps keep them on their feet.
A farmers lot ain't easy, long hours every day.
Please grant farmers another great season,
the fishing industry too,
for they have bills to pay.
Some food off the land, some from the sea,
Whatever your choice of dining, please let each be free.
